Established in 2005, Black Sheep & Prodigal Sons is the work of Derrick R. Cruz. Guided by funerary crafts, alchemical studies and primitive mythology, his varied works emerge as conceptual conduits between materialism and intuition – contemporary archetypes seeking to reconcile instinct with the exponential repercussions of modern living. Cruz lives and works in Manhattan and is a faculty member at Parson’s New School for Design.
