Pre-Resurrection by Bevel
In order to trick the gods of Xibalba, the Hero Twins decide it is necessary to lull the demons into a false sense of security by allowing themselves to be sacrificed. The gods are overjoyed, unaware that the Twins poses the power to resurrect each other. This piece is in reference to the last state of the twin’s lives pre-resurrection. Laid flat, it resembles a turtle, which the principal Mayan Maize God rises from.
Hung vertically, this necklace resembles an exposed rib cage. The double chain is representative of the twins, as well as duality. One chain hangs taught, the other loose.
