The Hun Hunahpu's head was suspended from a calabash tree as a trophy. Xquic, daughter of the Xibalban lord, approached this tree. Hunahpu’s skull spat into her hand and impregnated her with the Hero Twins.
The curved bar represents the branch of calabash tree. The seven thistles represent heads hung on the branch of the calabash trophy tree.
