OCCULTER

1) a private salon and exchange project hosted by Black Sheep & Prodigal Sons.

2) an instrument used to block the view of a bright celestial object allowing the careful observation of a fainter one.

3) hide (vt), 3) darken (vt), 4) hidden (pass.), 5) darkened (pass.) -- French (pronounce)

Inspired by a pantheon of fringe thinkers and risk-takers under the influence of the celestial spheres, OCCULTER seeks to fan the spark of one basic human necessity: a personal sense of wonder.

OCCULTER's keystone is the careful curation of artful objects and the nurture of stimulating and productive relationships with their makers. These include: artisan jewelry; contemporary art; collectible books and journals; audio recordings; and other items.

OCCULTER is located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City.
